Apply to become a Provisionally Approved Supervisor
To be eligible to be a Provisionally Approved Pastoral Supervisor, a person must –
- have completed a recognised course in a related vocation, or
- have no less than 5 years’ experience in pastoral ministry, mentoring and coaching (including retired ministry workers, or ministry spouses) or other related vocations,
- undertake the Supervision Foundations Training Course.
The next Supervisor Foundations Training Course details:
When: March 10th, 12th, and 17th 2025 10am-4pm each day
Where: St Andrews House (Level 2, 464 Kent St) in Sydney.
Cost: $300
All Pastoral Supervisors must also declare their willingness to abide by Faithfulness in Service and to support the ministry of the Diocese of Sydney.
Insurance
Unless otherwise covered by another organisation’s insurance, Provisionally Approved Pastoral Supervisors are covered by the Diocese’s insurance policy.
Approval will be issued for a specified period, usually five years, and is not perpetual. The usual duration of approval will be reviewed from time to time in accordance with the review schedule of the Pastoral Supervision Policy.

- Professional Qualifications (if any).
- Evidence of 5 year’s experience in pastoral ministry, mentoring and coaching (including retired ministry workers, or ministry spouses) or other related vocations.
- A copy of a national police check no older than 12 months
- A signed copy of the Letter of Agreement for Provisional Approved Pastoral Supervisors
